The upcoming Bajaj Pulsar RS200 update is set to bring upside-down forks, a new TFT instrument console, revised controls and other equipment upgrades.
Bajaj Auto is preparing another major update for its Pulsar range, with the Pulsar RS200 spotted testing with several new features. The fully faired motorcycle retains its familiar design but gains upgraded hardware and technology, including upside-down front forks and a new TFT instrument cluster.
USD Forks Mark Major Hardware Upgrade
The biggest change visible on the test motorcycle is the adoption of upside-down (USD) front forks. The current RS200 uses conventional telescopic forks, making the new setup a significant mechanical upgrade for Bajaj’s fully faired motorcycle.
The rear continues with a monoshock arrangement, while the test bike also features alloy wheels and disc brakes at both ends. The existing RS200 is equipped with a 300mm front disc, a 230mm rear disc and dual-channel ABS.
New TFT Console and Revised Controls
The cockpit has received a substantial technology upgrade. The test bike features a rectangular TFT instrument console displaying information such as speed, gear position and a bar-style tachometer.
The switchgear has also been revised. The left side gets a directional control pad, while the right-hand unit features a dedicated hazard-light button. Adjustable clutch and brake levers are another new addition, allowing riders to adjust lever reach.
A covered port positioned near the instrument cluster suggests that USB charging could also be offered. Given the connected features introduced on other updated Pulsars, navigation and smartphone connectivity could potentially be available on the RS200 as well.
Familiar Styling and 200cc Engine
Despite the updates, the motorcycle retains the RS200’s distinctive full-fairing design, twin-projector headlamps, raised windscreen, fairing-mounted mirrors and angular body panels. Split seats, pillion grab rails and the rear tyre hugger also continue.
The engine is expected to remain largely unchanged. The existing RS200 uses a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 199.5cc four-valve engine producing 24.5 PS at 9,750rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox.
Launch and Expected Price
The updated Pulsar RS200 is expected to join Bajaj’s expanding range of refreshed Pulsar models soon. The current RS200 is priced at Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom), and the updated motorcycle could command a premium because of its additional hardware and technology.
With USD forks, a TFT display and revised controls, the updated RS200 is shaping up to be a more feature-rich version of Bajaj’s flagship fully faired Pulsar.
