MG’s upcoming seven-seat electric SUV has been spotted undisguised ahead of its August 26 launch, revealing its design and giving us an idea of its expected features, battery and range.
JSW MG Motor India’s upcoming Hector Tomahawk EV has been spotted undisguised on Indian roads ahead of its launch on August 26, 2026. The new seven-seater SUV will be the first MG model in India to be built on the company’s ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology) platform.
Spy shots reveal a clean and modern design. Up front, the SUV gets dual LED DRLs with LED headlamps, a black trim with two silver strips and the MG logo. The Tomahawk is electric and sports a blanked-off grille and a rectangular lower air intake.
The dual-tone front bumper gets vertical air curtains, while the bonnet gets subtle character lines. The test car was painted olive green, with a black roof and roof rails providing contrast.
On the sides, the SUV is equipped with chrome door handles, a chrome window line with an upward kink towards the rear and generous black cladding around the squared wheel arches. Large dual-tone alloy wheels further accentuate its SUV stance.
Seven Seats And Luxury Features
The estimated dimensions of the Hector Tomahawk are 4,745mm in length, 1,850mm in width, 1,755mm in height and 2,810mm in wheelbase. The SUV will have three rows of seats, putting it right in the middle of other electric family SUVs.
Expected features include a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, power and ventilated front seats, power tailgate and 50W wireless charging.
The SUV may also get automatic climate control with separate vents for the second and third rows, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, six airbags and ADAS.
Battery, Range And Estimated Price
MG has not yet confirmed the India-specific specifications, but the Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to be equipped with a 69.2kWh LFP battery pack. The related Wuling Eksion gets a front-mounted electric motor producing 201hp and 310Nm, along with a claimed CLTC range of up to 530km.
The Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to be priced at Rs 18 lakh-Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). It will take on the likes of the Mahindra XEV 9S and Kia Carens Clavis EV, while a PHEV variant is expected to be launched later.
