April 15, 2026 Yoshika Chhabra

Discontinued in 2022, the Pulsar 180 makes a comeback with updated styling, improved torque, and a price that undercuts its closest rival.

Indian two-wheeler major Bajaj Auto has launched the much-awaited Pulsar 180 motorcycle in the Indian market. Launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.22 lakh in the Delhi region, the new 2026 Pulsar 180 will bridge the gap between the Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 220F motorcycles following the discontinuation of the model in 2022.

Design and Styling

As the name suggests, the new Pulsar 180 follows the same Pulsar design ethos and comes with updated styling and looks. While it continues to retain the classic Pulsar design, it also gets some styling updates inspired by the new Pulsar 150, including an LED headlight and updated body graphics.

It is available in five variants – black gold, black blue, black grey, black red, and white.

Engine and Performance

The engine used here is a proven 178.6 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder unit that produces 17 hp at 8,500 rpm and 15 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

While the power remains the same, torque gets a slight boost, improving performance in low and mid ranges. The Pulsar 180 still offers a fine balance between performance and practicality, as it holds an edge over the Pulsar 150 in terms of power output.

Suspension and Braking

It features telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear, carried forward from the original Pulsar line-up. For braking, there is a 280 mm front disc brake and a 230 mm rear disc brake, both equipped with single-channel ABS.

The bike rides on 17-inch wheels fitted with tubeless tyres.

Price & Market Positioning

The Pulsar 180 is priced at Rs 1.22 lakh, making it about Rs 12,000 more expensive than the Pulsar 150. On the other hand, it is Rs 4,000 more affordable than its direct competitor, the TVS Apache RTR 180.

Conclusion

The Pulsar 180 is not just another product line; it is an attempt by Bajaj to rekindle an old flame. With a tried-and-tested engine, essential modern features, and a competitive price point, the Pulsar 180 is ready to make a comeback.
