The Glanza facelift is expected to debut with Baleno-inspired updates, including a new three-cylinder engine, Level 2 ADAS and more features.
Toyota is expected to launch the facelifted Glanza in India on October 14, according to dealer sources. The update will arrive around a month after the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift, with both models sharing the same underlying architecture as part of the Toyota-Maruti partnership.
The Glanza facelift is expected to receive several of the updates introduced on the new Baleno. However, Toyota is likely to retain a distinct front-end design to differentiate its version from the Maruti.
Toyota Glanza Facelift: What’s Expected To Change?
The biggest change could be under the bonnet. Toyota is expected to replace the current 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with the new 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated unit. On the Baleno, this engine produces 83hp and 112Nm and is paired with a 5-speed manual or AMT. A CNG version with a manual gearbox is also expected.
The Glanza could get a redesigned grille and front bumper, while the projector LED headlights and 16-inch alloy wheels could be carried over from the current model.
Inside, the basic dashboard design is expected to remain unchanged, but the facelift could gain several new features. These include ventilated front seats, a cooled wireless charging pad and Clarion-tuned speakers.
The biggest feature addition could be Level 2 ADAS, with functions such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking and automatic high-beam assist. A tyre-pressure monitoring system is also expected.
Toyota is likely to price the facelifted Glanza at a slight premium over the current model, which is priced from Rs 6.73 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom. It will continue to rival the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20.
