Royal Enfield has declared that the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has achieved sales of over 6 lakh units worldwide since its introduction in November 2020. The model remains one of the company’s most popular cruisers, appealing to both novice and experienced riders looking for a comfortable ride on a mid-size cruiser.
The J-Series Platform
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 was the company’s first model based on its J-series platform. The J-series platform replaced the company’s older UCE engine platform and provided several upgrades to the engine’s smoothness and reliability.
Other motorcycles based on the J-series platform are the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Royal Enfield Hunter 350, and Royal Enfield Bullet 350.
Engine and Performance
The Meteor 350 is propelled by a 349cc air-oil cooled single-cylinder engine that is optimized for cruising. The engine churns out 20.2hp at 6,100rpm and 27Nm of torque at 4,000rpm, which is mated to a five-speed transmission and assist-slipper clutch.
The engine is optimized for smooth performance and low-end torque, which makes it suitable for highway cruising. The smoothness of the engine has been one of the primary reasons for its popularity among riders.
Features and Equipment
The Meteor 350 brought several tech features to Royal Enfield’s 350cc lineup. The bike is equipped with a digital-analogue display and Royal Enfield’s own Tripper navigation system, which uses a smartphone to provide turn-by-turn navigation.
The bike is also equipped with LED lights, adjustable brake and clutch levers, a Type-C USB charging point, and dual-channel ABS. The addition of tech features to a cruiser bike helped to modernize it without compromising its classic design philosophy.
Variants, Pricing and Global Reach
Currently, Meteor 350 is available in four variants, which are Fireball, Stellar, Aurora, and Supernova. The price range of Meteor 350 in India is between 1.96 and 2.16 lakhs (ex-showroom), depending on the variant and model.
Royal Enfield has already expanded its presence to more than 60 countries across the globe. The retail outlets of Royal Enfield have already crossed 2,000 outlets in India and 1,000 outlets outside India.
