Royal Enfield’s upcoming 750cc cafe racer has been spotted testing in near-production form, revealing its sporty design, twin-cylinder engine and dual-disc front brakes.
Royal Enfield appears to be moving closer to expanding its multi-cylinder motorcycle lineup with the upcoming GTR 750. The motorcycle has been spotted testing on public roads in Chennai, with the latest test mule appearing closer to production specification. While the final name is yet to be confirmed, the increasing frequency of test sightings suggests that an official launch could take place by the end of 2026 or in 2027.
The upcoming motorcycle is expected to be a fully faired derivative of the Continental GT 750, which is also under testing. Unlike the existing Continental GT 650, the new model will feature a larger engine and a sportier design.
Sporty Design With Full Fairing
The latest test mule features a compact fairing that partially covers the engine while integrating the circular headlamp with a small flyscreen. The motorcycle will get clip-on handlebars and bar-end mirrors, resulting in a more committed and sporty riding position.
It also gets alloy wheels, while the engine bay and exhaust components are finished in matte black. The motorcycle also gets twin exhaust pipes, positioned on either side. A key mechanical upgrade visible on the test mule is the dual-disc front brake setup.
Expected Features
The GTR 750 is likely to be equipped with dual-channel ABS, a slipper clutch, LED lighting, tubeless tyres, telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. The instrument cluster appears to retain a twin-pod design, although Royal Enfield could add its Tripper navigation system with Bluetooth connectivity on the production-spec motorcycle.
New 750cc Parallel-Twin Engine
The motorcycle is expected to be powered by a new 750cc parallel-twin, oil-cooled engine. It is likely to be a bored-out version of Royal Enfield’s existing 648cc parallel-twin motor.
The current 650cc engine produces around 47 bhp and 52 Nm, while the upcoming 750cc unit could deliver approximately 50-55 bhp and over 60 Nm of torque. A six-speed gearbox is expected to be retained.
Launch Timeline
Royal Enfield has not officially confirmed the launch timeline yet. However, with testing seemingly progressing towards the production stage, the GTR 750 could make its debut in India by late 2026 or in 2027.
