The upcoming electric Range Rover GT introduces a new body style and a comfort-focused approach to the luxury SUV lineup.
Land Rover has been building SUVs since 1948, but with the upcoming Range Rover GT, the brand is venturing into grand touring territory, aiming to keep buyers within the marque instead of losing them to performance SUVs like the Aston Martin DBX and Lamborghini Urus. The move also aligns with the industry’s broader shift towards electrification and lower-emission mobility.
The Range Rover GT is set to join the existing lineup as the fifth member.
First All-Electric Range Rover
The launch of the Range Rover GT is a crucial step in Range Rover’s transition to BEVs, as it is the first electric vehicle produced by the brand. Although this will be a battery-electric vehicle, Range Rover has confirmed that hybrid powertrains are also planned for the future.

Probably the most controversial aspect of the Range Rover GT is its design approach. Instead of the typical upright SUV silhouette, the GT adopts the coupe-like lines of a grand tourer.
According to Range Rover, the GT has been designed to offer the dynamics and refinement expected from a luxury grand tourer without compromising the versatility associated with the brand. It claims that the Range Rover GT is the most ‘car-like’ model in its lineup, developed for people who spend more time on highways than on rough off-road terrain.

GT focused for highway crusing
Inside, the GT introduces an entirely new cabin philosophy focused on a minimalist and comfort-oriented approach. The dashboard features a single central touchscreen and a separate driver’s display, while hidden air vents and integrated speakers create a cleaner and more peaceful cabin environment.
Range Rover has also confirmed that the GT offers class-leading second-row legroom, reflecting its focus on long-distance passenger comfort. Woven materials and hidden technologies further enhance the luxurious, lounge-like atmosphere, designed to reduce visual and acoustic distractions during long journeys.
How does it fit into the Range Rover family?
With the introduction of the GT, Range Rover is expanding its product portfolio beyond traditional SUV body styles. The Range Rover GT will join the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Velar, and Range Rover Evoque in
the lineup.
The prototype is currently undergoing final global testing ahead of its official debut. Camouflaged test vehicles reveal the model’s sleek proportions and highlight the new direction that the iconic luxury SUV brand is taking.
