Mahindra has launched the Thar OG in India at an introductory price of Rs 10.32 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated three-door SUV retains the familiar Thar design but gets major changes to its platform, suspension, powertrains, features and safety equipment. Deliveries will begin from October 11, 2026.

The Mahindra Thar OG is the latest version of the company’s three-door off-roader SUV. It carries forward the character and silhouette of the Thar introduced in 2020, while bringing updates aimed at improving its on-road refinement, off-road capability and everyday usability.

The Thar OG continues with three engine options: a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol, 2.2-litre mHawk diesel and 1.5-litre CRDe diesel.

Is this an all-new Thar?
In a way, yes. Though the body style might be instantly recognisable, the changes are skin deep. The Thar OG is based on the new M_Glyde 4G platform, which has higher stiffness.
The SUV also gets a rear PENTALINK suspension with Watts Link, along with DAVINCI damping technology and Frequency Dependent Damping (FDD). Electric Power Steering and enhanced NVH damping have also been added.
