Customers can choose between two battery packs: a 63kWh unit paired with rear-wheel drive (RWD) or a larger 75kWh battery available with both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD).

The 63kWh version offers a claimed range of 566km, while the 75kWh RWD delivers up to 665km. The 75kWh AWD variant offers a claimed range of 625km on a single charge.

Charging performance is equally impressive. Tata claims that a 120kW DC fast charger can add 263km of range in just 15 minutes, while charging the battery from 20 to 80 percent takes only 26 minutes.

Exterior Design

New Tata Sierra EV Details Revealed; Dual-Motor AWD Confirmed

Visually, the Sierra EV retains the overall styling of its ICE counterpart, with the most noticeable change being the redesigned front fascia. The conventional dark grille has been replaced with a cleaner, more aerodynamic design. The EV also features gloss black cladding all around, giving it a more premium appearance.

Apart from the distinctive front-end design, it is difficult to differentiate the EV from the ICE model. We personally prefer the Sierra EV’s styling, as it stays closer to the original Sierra concept.

Premium Interiors

Mirroring the exterior, the cabin remains largely unchanged, with only minor material revisions. A striking triple-screen setup dominates the dashboard.

The Sierra EV comes equipped with premium features including a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a 12-speaker JBL premium audio system, dual-zone climate control, and ventilated front seats.

Like most modern EVs, the Sierra EV offers an extensive list of features even on the base variant, making it well-equipped across the lineup.

Safety & Tech

The Sierra EV continues Tata’s strong focus on safety. It comes equipped with six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, connected car technology, auto park assist, and a head-up display.

Additional features include a digital key, over-the-air (OTA) updates, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging, and even a Summon Mode.

Verdict

At a competitive starting price of ₹18.79 lakh (ex-showroom), the Tata Sierra EV presents a compelling option for buyers looking to switch to electric mobility.

It enters one of India’s fastest-growing electric SUV segments and will compete against the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, and the VinFast VF 6.

Whether it can outperform its rivals remains to be seen, but the Sierra EV certainly stands out by offering an extensive feature list, impressive range, and multiple powertrain options at an attractive price.
