Revised Honda City caught testing with an updated design, new grille, new lights, and possibly new features for India.

Honda is all set to refresh its best-selling City sedan soon, and these new spy photos reveal more about the upcoming 2026 facelift. Set to be unveiled globally alongside the new ZR-V on May 22, the refreshed City looks likely to come with several exterior styling updates, along with a few new interior features and added safety systems.
With a lot more detail visible in the latest spy images, including the new front and rear sections, there appear to be several visual updates expected.
Design Inspiration From Global Honda Family

The most significant visual changes can be observed upfront. The front end of the new Honda City has become more vertical and sporty compared to its predecessor. The styling cues used here seem to have been borrowed from some new Honda models from around the world, especially the Honda Prelude.
There seem to be some tweaks made to the overall headlight design, but the most noticeable change on the Honda City is the all-new grille with horizontally stacked inserts in place of the existing mesh-type setup.
The new front end of the Honda City is also equipped with an updated bumper design, which looks more aggressive than ever.
Side Profile Similar To Before
Taking a look at the side profile of the sedan, it seems to be largely carried over from the pre-facelift model. The same roof design, door handles, and dual-tone ORVMs with turn indicators continue to be offered. Nevertheless, the facelifted Honda City receives new alloy wheels to keep the side profile interesting.
Rear Redesigns

The differences can also be seen at the rear, though to a lesser degree. It seems that there are some modifications to the tail-light graphics while keeping their overall shape similar to before.
Another change to the rear appearance is the vertical stacking of the bumper reflectors on both sides rather than the horizontal placement seen on the current model.
Features To Come In India?
As far as interior changes are concerned, not much may be expected, since the complete next generation of the car is scheduled to debut in 2028.
There is already an impressive set of safety features in the Honda City. These include six airbags, hill start assist, vehicle stability assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera.
Honda’s advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), known as Honda SENSING, are expected to be included in the updated version. These include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, collision mitigation braking, auto high beam, and road departure mitigation.
No Changes Expected For Engine Line-Up
In terms of mechanicals, the 2026 Honda City facelift is most likely to come with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It will produce 121 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque. Two transmission options are also expected — a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission. There are unlikely to be any significant changes in the powertrain department.
Given the current fuel situation in the country, we could see a renewed focus on hybrids. Yes, the City already comes with a hybrid powertrain, but we may see more trims added to the hybrid variant to make it more accessible to buyers.
Prices could be slightly higher than the existing model range, which currently starts from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). After launch, the Honda City will continue to compete with the likes of Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia in India.
