Nissan Tekton Launched in India at Rs 10.49 Lakh; Patrol-Inspired SUV Takes on Creta

The new midsize SUV gets turbo-petrol engines, a spacious cabin, Level 2 ADAS and introductory prices ranging from Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 18.59 lakh.

Nissan has announced the launch of the Tekton in India with an introductory price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Built on the same platform as the Renault Duster, the Tekton is Nissan’s new midsize SUV for India and carries design cues from the Nissan Patrol. The Tekton shares its interior layout with the Duster but gets a dual-tone interior to distinguish it from its French sibling.

Available in six variants—Visia, Visia+, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna+—bookings are now open, while deliveries will commence next month.

Nissan Tekton: Price range across variants

The Nissan Tekton comes with two turbo-petrol engine options and multiple gearbox choices.

Engine Specifications

While the Renault Duster is set to receive a strong-hybrid powertrain in the future, the Tekton is available only with turbo-petrol engines.

Without the upcoming 1.8-litre strong-hybrid powertrain offered on the Duster, Nissan will rely on its turbo-petrol engines to attract customers.

Dimensions & Platform

Based on the same platform as the Renault Duster, the Tekton offers ample space in the midsize SUV segment. One of the Tekton’s biggest strengths is its segment-leading cabin space, thanks to its long 2,657mm wheelbase and well-packaged CMF-B platform.

Dimension Measurement
Length 4,348 mm
Width 1,815 mm
Height 1,674 mm
Wheelbase 2,657 mm
Ground Clearance 212 mm
Boot Space 518 litres

With 212mm of ground clearance and a 518-litre boot, the Tekton is among the most practical SUVs in its segment.

Interior and specifications

The interior gets a unique rose gold and burgundy dual-tone theme that differentiates it from the Renault Duster. The dashboard is equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster.

10.1-inch Touchscreen

Another highlight of the Tekton is its safety package. Nissan claims the SUV inherits the Duster’s 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating while also being engineered to achieve a 5-star Global NCAP rating.

Verdict

With competitive pricing, two turbo-petrol engine options, a long list of features and a spacious cabin, the Nissan Tekton enters the Indian market as a strong contender in the highly competitive midsize SUV segment. The only notable omission is a hybrid powertrain, which will be introduced on the Renault Duster at a later stage.
