The updated C-Class gets S-Class-inspired styling, a smarter AI-powered cabin and updated petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
Mercedes-Benz has revealed the global 2027 C-Class facelift, which features updates to its design, technology and powertrain range. The fifth-generation C-Class, which debuted in 2021, is receiving its first major refresh, so here are the three big changes.
1. More S-Class styling cues
The biggest visual changes are focused on the front. The facelifted C-Class features new LED headlamps with signature three-pointed-star DRLs, flanking a larger grille with chrome star patterns and a prominent Mercedes-Benz badge. A gloss-black trim links the grille and headlamps, and the bumper has also been redesigned.
The side profile is almost identical, and the new model is recognisable by new alloy wheel designs and cameras integrated into the ORVMs. Buyers have the choice of 17-inch and 19-inch wheels. The rear of the sedan has new three-pointed-star lighting signatures in the tail-lamps.
The facelift also brings two new exterior colours – Lavender Silver Metallic and Sky Gray Metallic.
2. Cabin Gets Smarter With AI
The dashboard layout is familiar, with the C-Class sticking with a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and an 11.9-inch portrait touchscreen. But both screens now run Mercedes-Benz’s latest MB.OS software.
The new system introduces over-the-air updates and a new AI-powered virtual assistant that combines technologies from ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Microsoft Bing. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 64-colour ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, a head-up display with augmented-reality navigation and Level 2 ADAS are included.
Inside, a new flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel, new upholstery and additional trim options contribute to the refresh.
3. More Power And Hybrid Help
The petrol range is powered by the 2.0-litre M 254 EVO turbo-petrol engine from Mercedes-Benz and is available in C 200, C 250 and C 300 variants. Output ranges between 177hp and 258hp, with the 48V mild-hybrid system capable of providing an additional 23hp and 205Nm of assistance.
The diesel range gets a tweaked 2.0-litre engine that makes up to 200hp and 440Nm. There will also be plug-in hybrid versions for global markets, with up to 395hp and 650Nm and an electric range of around 100km.
India Launch Expected
Mercedes-Benz has not announced the launch date of the facelifted C-Class in India. The current-generation C-Class is already available in India, hence the updated version is likely to be launched in early 2027. Closer to the launch, we should get more details on the prices and India-specific engine options.
