Hyundai’s new buyback programme guarantees up to 60 percent value after three years, addressing one of the biggest concerns among first-time EV buyers.

Hyundai Motor India has launched a new assured buyback programme for the Creta Electric, assuring customers up to 60 per cent of the SUV’s value after three years or 45,000km. The effort seeks to tackle one of the biggest obstacles to buyers shifting to electric vehicles, that is unknown resale value.
EV resale values are not yet established like petrol and diesel cars and depreciation is a big concern for many buyers. Hyundai wants to increase customer confidence in its electric SUV and make the ownership experience more predictable by guaranteeing a future value.
The buyback programme complements Hyundai’s existing Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which lowers the Creta Electric’s entry price, and its expanding charging network that now offers access to more than 30,000 charging points through the myHyundai app.
For buyers, the biggest advantage is financial certainty. Instead of worrying about how much the vehicle will be worth a few years down the line, owners now have a guaranteed minimum resale value, making the shift to electric mobility less of a gamble. The programme is available for the Hyundai Creta Electric with terms applicable for ownership of up to three years or 45,000km.
