Ather’s upcoming affordable electric scooter has been spotted testing in Bengaluru, with the Konarc expected to be priced between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.25 lakh. 
The next product addition to the existing Ather electric scooter lineup will be the Konarc, which has now been spotted testing in Bengaluru in preparation for the official launch of this product on August 29, 2026. This upcoming model will position itself beneath the Rizta and will become Ather’s most affordable offering as a result.
The new test mule seems to have retained some styling features that were showcased earlier on the EL01 concept at Ather’s Community Day 2025. In comparison to the sharper-looking 450 range, the Konarc looks much more conventional as a scooter.
The design will feature a handlebar-mounted headlamp accompanied by a broad LED DRL on the front apron. This new test mule also gives the first glimpse of a completely new, fully digital instrument cluster, while exact specifications have not been unveiled as of yet.
Ather has always relied heavily on technology and connectivity, so the Konarc should boast a bunch of modern features once the final production version is unveiled.
New platform and swingarm-mounted motor
Konarc will be using the company’s new platform, which should help reduce the need for servicing and allow longer periods between servicing. The test mule has confirmed that the Konarc will feature a swingarm-mounted electric motor, while the exact figures for power and torque are yet to be disclosed.
The electric scooter will feature a 14-inch wheel at the front and a 12-inch wheel at the rear. The braking system will consist of a front disc brake and a rear drum brake. The test mule also seems to have a large floorboard and adequate seating capacity to fit two adults.
Expected price and competition
Ather Konarc is expected to come in a price range of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). With this price tag, it will slot below the Rizta and will become Ather’s cheapest electric scooter so far.
This scooter will compete with the entry-level variants of TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak, both of which are already established in India’s competitive electric scooter market.
Its lower positioning, practical design and new platform make the Konarc a critical element in Ather’s attempt to capture a larger audience. More information regarding its battery capacity, range, power output and other features should be unveiled as its launch date of August 29 approaches.
