Urban-focused cruiser gets alloy wheels, blacked-out styling and updated ergonomics for just Rs 1,200 more than the Cruise.

Bajaj Auto has launched the latest addition to its cruiser motorcycle lineup in India, the Avenger 220 Street. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
Positioned as a more urban-focused alternative to the Avenger 220 Cruise, the new variant commands a modest premium of just Rs 1,200 over its sibling.
A Familiar Name Returns

The ‘Street’ badge is not new to the Avenger range. Bajaj previously sold the Avenger Street with a 160cc engine before discontinuing the model.
With the launch of the Avenger 220 Street, Bajaj has revived the nameplate and paired it with the brand’s proven 220cc platform.
As a result, buyers now have two options within the Avenger 220 lineup: the traditional Cruise variant and the more contemporary Street version.
Key Differences From The Avenger 220 Cruise

One of the biggest updates on the Avenger 220 Street is the switch to alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. In comparison, the Avenger 220 Cruise continues with wire-spoke wheels and tube-type tyres.
Tyre dimensions remain unchanged, with a 90-section front tyre and a 130-section rear tyre.
The motorcycle also gets a revised front-end design. Unlike the Cruise variant, the Street features a redesigned headlamp assembly with a horizontal LED daytime running light positioned directly beneath the main headlamp, giving it a more modern appearance.
Improved Ergonomics For City Riding

Bajaj has revised the rider triangle to make the motorcycle better suited to urban riding conditions.
The Avenger 220 Street receives a flatter and slightly lower handlebar compared to the Cruise model. However, the forward-set footpegs remain unchanged, preserving the relaxed cruiser riding posture.
The motorcycle continues with its low 737 mm seat height, making it accessible to a wide range of riders. Despite the low-slung design, ground clearance remains adequate for everyday use.
Styling updates include a shorter windscreen replacing the larger touring screen found on the Cruise variant. The Street model also receives black fork gaiters and a fully blacked-out engine, giving it a sportier look.
Proven 220cc Engine
Powering the Avenger 220 Street is the same 220cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine found in the Cruise variant.
The motor produces 19 hp and 17.5 Nm of torque and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
Interestingly, the Avenger 220 Street weighs 3 kg more than the Avenger 220 Cruise, taking its kerb weight to 163 kg.
Colours Available
The new Avenger 220 Street is available in two colour options:
- Ebony Black
- Cocktail Wine Red
With practical upgrades such as tubeless tyres, refreshed styling and a competitive price tag, the Avenger 220 Street is expected to appeal to buyers looking for a comfortable and stylish cruiser for everyday riding
