2027 Hyundai Creta Spied Bigger, Bolder With Palisade-Like Design

May 3, 2026 Abhinav Mishra

Next-gen Creta grows in size, adopts a boxy Palisade-inspired design, gets a new platform, bigger cabin and hybrid tech ahead of its 2027 India launch.

The upcoming Hyundai Creta has been captured on test drives in Korea, giving a preview of the possible changes before the vehicle launches around 2027. As evidenced by recent spy photos taken in the US, there appears to be an increase in size, with an even more commanding SUV stance than before.

Baby Hyundai Palisade

While heavily disguised for testing purposes, the test car still shows several design hints. First off, the front-end design includes square-shaped headlights, a vertical bonnet, and an overall boxy look. Yes, if, like us, you feel the Hyundai Palisade influence here, you are not mistaken.

The boxy theme continues on the sides as well, with new alloys, dual-colored ORVMs, turn signals built into the ORVMs, and a shark fin antenna. In addition, a tapering roof profile is evident, and prior sightings have also indicated pixel-style lights.

This next-gen Creta will increase in dimensions and measure up to 4,500 mm in total length, compared to the current 4,330 mm version. This growth is attributed to the Hyundai K3 platform, which is currently used by the newest Kia Seltos.

Roomier Interior and Cargo Space

The increase in dimensions will result in more interior space and a larger cargo area. The Tata Sierra and Renault Duster are already setting standards in terms of large trunk volume in the market, making this factor an important selling point for any competitor.

Luxurious and Tech-Enhanced Cabin

On the inside, it is anticipated that the cabin will offer numerous amenities to customers. An entirely new steering wheel with the latest Hyundai logo—four dots at its center—will make its debut on this model in India.

The infotainment and instrument cluster screens will likely be upgraded, offering enhanced display quality, larger screen sizes, and even a revamped interface.

It seems the cabin design is heavily focused on providing utmost comfort, as features like “Boss Mode” and rear headrests for every passenger have already been spotted in previous prototype models.

Engines and Future Hybrid Plans

At launch, it is expected that the new-generation Hyundai Creta will continue to offer the same engines, namely the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel units. Transmission options will remain manual, automatic, and DCT, depending on the specific trim level.

A hybrid version of the Hyundai Creta is also under development. It is expected to be launched later to counter competing models such as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

Launch Schedule

It is anticipated that the 2027 Hyundai Creta will be launched either by the end of this year or sometime in 2027. Upon its launch, it will compete against the likes of the Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun in the compact SUV segment in India.
