2026 Suzuki Access: India gets its first single-channel ABS 125cc scooter

The variant gets no special colours or sticker job apart from the ABS badging on the front mudguard. The Suzuki Access ABS has been competitively priced at ₹92,328.

Suzuki Motorcycle India has officially launched the Suzuki Access 125 scooter with a single-channel Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) variant in the Indian market. This marks an important safety upgrade for the brand’s best-selling 125cc commuter scooter.

The ABS option is available on two specific trims — the Ride Connect ABS Edition priced at ₹92,328 and the Ride Connect TFT ABS Edition priced at ₹98,378 (both ex-showroom, Delhi). Depending on the variant, the ABS versions command a modest premium of around ₹3,600 to ₹4,500 over the standard versions, while offering added safety under sudden or hard braking conditions on varied road surfaces.

Apart from the ABS tag on the front mudguard, visually the Access looks identical to its non-ABS version. The same is true for the spec sheet as well. The Access continues to use a 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 8.4hp and 10.2Nm, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The power delivery and efficiency of the engine have made it a favourite among urban commuters.

So what does single-channel ABS mean? The system is paired only with the front disc brake and helps prevent wheel lock-up during sudden braking. This feature also falls under the purview of Indian government safety regulations that mandate front-wheel ABS for two-wheelers with engine capacities of 125cc and above. We expect other manufacturers to follow suit, as TVS, Yamaha, Honda and Aprilia all sell their own versions of 125cc scooters.

The Suzuki Access 125 also comes with a full-colour TFT instrument cluster and smartphone connectivity. However, to match modern rivals—particularly EV scooters like the Ather—we feel Suzuki could have equipped the Access with a touchscreen display.

Suzuki is also expected to launch the ABS variant of the Burgman within this calendar year. Additionally, features such as TFT instrument clusters are anticipated to be incorporated into the Burgman model as well.
