The 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift brings a new three-cylinder petrol engine, Level 2 ADAS, revised styling and added cabin features.
Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2026 Baleno facelift in India at a starting price of Rs 6.10 lakh, ex-showroom. The mid-lifecycle update brings changes to the premium hatchback’s powertrain, styling, safety equipment and cabin features while retaining its familiar overall design.
1. New 1.2-Litre Three-Cylinder Engine
The biggest change is under the bonnet. The outgoing 1.2-litre four-cylinder K12N engine has been replaced by Maruti Suzuki’s Z12E 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder unit. It produces 83hp and 112Nm, with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT available.
Maruti says the engine has been tuned for improved low-end torque in the Baleno. The factory-fitted CNG version continues, producing 70hp and 102Nm and paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
2. Level 2 ADAS Added
The Baleno now gets a Level 2 ADAS suite, making it one of the most safety-focused offerings in its segment. Features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking and high-beam assist.
The update also adds a tyre-pressure monitoring system, while six airbags, ABS with EBD and a 360-degree camera are among the other safety features.
3. Revised Front-End Design
Exterior changes are concentrated around the front. The Baleno gets a larger grille that incorporates the radar sensor required for the ADAS system. The Suzuki logo has been repositioned above the grille, while the bumper and LED fog lamps have also been redesigned. A new chrome garnish on the front fenders and a shark-fin antenna have also been added.
4. More Premium Cabin Features
The cabin retains its layered dashboard, 9-inch touchscreen, analogue instrument cluster, HUD and physical climate-control buttons. New additions include cooled wireless charging, ventilated front seats and a branded Clarion sound system.
5. Familiar Design And Features
The LED headlights, three-block DRL signature, 16-inch dual-tone alloys and tail-lights continue unchanged. The Baleno still misses out on features such as a sunroof and rear centre armrest.
