Kia India Sales Jump 48.1% In August To Record 29,042 Units

Sales reached a new August high, with Seltos and Sonet continuing to drive volumes while the new Syros EV adds to the company’s electric vehicle line-up.

Kia India has had a strong August, recording its highest-ever wholesale sales for the month since entering the Indian market. The company’s performance comes as demand remains steady across its SUV range, while its electric vehicle portfolio is also beginning to gain traction.

Kia Motor India dispatched 29,042 units in August 2026, compared with 19,608 units in August last year. This is a rise of 48.1 per cent on the same period last year. Year-to-date wholesale sales have also grown 20.1%, reaching 220,991 units between January and August 2026.

The Seltos and Sonet remained the main drivers of sales. The Kia Seltos has been clocking monthly sales of over 10,000 units since its launch in January and the Sonet continues to be a popular choice in the compact SUV segment.

The recently launched Syros EV has also received an encouraging response from buyers. Kia is supporting its electric range with offerings such as Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), an Assured Buyback programme and a Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty.

The company’s next major launch is just around the corner. Kia will introduce the Sorento in India on September 4, 2026. The three-row SUV will be the brand’s first hybrid model in India and will also get a diesel powertrain.

The Sorento will take Kia into the premium three-row SUV segment, giving buyers another option as the company expands its range of powertrains and models in India.
