Jaguar’s radical 1,000bhp electric GT previews a dramatic EV-only future with futuristic styling, 700km range, and supercar-level performance.

Jaguar has officially begun teasing what could become its most talked-about car in decades — a radical all-electric four-door GT expected to produce more than 1,000bhp. Internally known as the Type 00 or X900, the production-ready model will receive its official name on May 12, ahead of its global debut in September 2026.
This car is more than just another luxury EV. It marks the beginning of Jaguar’s controversial yet ambitious transformation into an EV-only premium brand. If current plans stay on track, India could see the flagship electric GT arrive sometime in 2027.
A Completely New Direction For Jaguar

This upcoming GT focuses heavily on a love-it-or-hate-it design philosophy, exclusivity, and strong road presence. Spy shots suggest the production version remains very close to the dramatic styling of the Type 00 concept, featuring a long bonnet, sleek roofline, slab-sided styling, and an unmistakably futuristic stance.
Jaguar wants this car to redefine what the brand stands for in the electric era — much like the legendary Jaguar E-Type did decades ago.
Over 1,000bhp: Jaguar’s Most Powerful Road Car Ever

Performance figures are nothing short of outrageous. The electric GT is expected to feature a tri-motor setup — one motor at the front and two at the rear — producing over 1,000bhp and approximately 1,300Nm of torque.
That would make it the most powerful Jaguar road car ever built, placing it in direct competition with high-performance EVs like the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT.
Despite being a large four-door luxury GT, Jaguar is targeting a 0-100 km/h sprint in under three seconds, putting it firmly in supercar territory.
New JEA Platform And Ultra-Fast Charging

Underneath the dramatic styling sits Jaguar’s all-new JEA (Jaguar Electric Architecture) platform, developed specifically for next-generation EVs.
The flagship GT is expected to use a massive 120kWh battery pack capable of delivering around 700km of WLTP range.
Jaguar also claims the EV can recover nearly 320km of range in just 15 minutes using ultra-fast DC charging, thanks to its advanced 800V electrical architecture.
For Indian buyers, such range figures could significantly reduce range anxiety during intercity drives between Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Mumbai, or Bengaluru.
Luxury-Focused Driving Experience
While the headline numbers focus on outright power, Jaguar says the GT is designed primarily as a luxurious grand tourer rather than a hardcore track machine.
The car is expected to feature advanced air suspension, adaptive damping, rear-wheel steering, and a comfort-focused cabin experience. Jaguar appears to be targeting buyers who want effortless high-speed cruising combined with futuristic styling and silent electric performance.
India Launch Expectations
Given the growing demand for ultra-premium EVs in India, the new GT could arrive as a halo product for the brand sometime in 2027. Globally, pricing is expected to start at around £120,000. Once imported into India, the electric GT could easily cost upwards of Rs 1.8 crore to Rs 2 crore (ex-showroom), depending on duties and specifications.
That would place it among the most expensive electric luxury cars in the country.
