Ferrari Enters Electric Era With 1050hp Luce GT

May 28, 2026 Admin

Ferrari’s first-ever electric car, the 1,050hp Luce, combines futuristic design, hypercar performance and a claimed range of 530 km.

Ferrari has unveiled the all-new Luce, the Italian luxury carmaker’s first-ever production electric vehicle. Introduced globally on May 26, 2026, the Luce marks a significant milestone in Ferrari’s evolution, combining futuristic styling with advanced EV technology. This five-seat grand tourer produces up to 1,050 hp and offers a claimed driving range of 530 km.

The vehicle was developed in collaboration with LoveFrom, the design studio founded by former Apple chief designer Jony Ive. The Luce is available to order with a starting price of €550,000 (approximately Rs 6.10 crore).

Radical New Ferrari Design

The Luce introduces a dramatic departure from Ferrari’s traditional design language. Unlike the brand’s iconic mid-engined sports cars, the new EV adopts a grand touring silhouette with a strong focus on aerodynamics and passenger comfort.

The cabin section features a glossy black finish, while the aluminium body shell creates a floating-roof effect. Slim LED headlamps sit beneath a floating front bridge, while the rear retains Ferrari’s signature quad circular tail-lamp design — one of the few styling cues shared with other Ferrari models.

Aerodynamics played a central role in the development of the Luce. Ferrari claims it is the most aerodynamic road-going Ferrari ever produced, with a drag coefficient of just 0.254 Cd. One unusual feature is the use of vertical windscreen wipers mounted along the edges of the windscreen.

The Luce is also the longest Ferrari ever built. Measuring 5,026 mm in length, it surpasses even the Ferrari Purosangue. It rides on massive 23-inch front and 24-inch rear wheels, among the largest ever fitted to a Ferrari.

Cabin Inspired By Classic Ferraris

Inside, the Luce debuts Ferrari’s first five-seat cabin configuration. Rear-hinged suicide doors improve access to the interior, while the flat-floor EV architecture helps maximise passenger and luggage space. The rear cargo area offers up to 597 litres of storage.

Rather than relying on oversized touchscreen displays, Ferrari has opted for a minimalist dashboard inspired by classic models. The flat-bottom, three-spoke steering wheel draws inspiration from Ferraris of the 1950s and 1960s while retaining physical buttons for key functions.

A 12.5-inch OLED instrument cluster mimics the appearance of traditional analogue gauges, while a floating 10-inch OLED infotainment display can be repositioned thanks to its ball-and-socket mounting system.

Premium materials include anodised aluminium surfaces and strengthened glass, reflecting influences from contemporary consumer technology design.

Quad-Motor Powertrain Delivers Hypercar Performance

Built on Ferrari’s dedicated skateboard EV platform, the Luce uses four electric motors, one for each wheel. Combined output stands at 1,050 hp and 990 Nm of torque.

Ferrari claims a 0-100 km/h sprint time of just 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h. The powertrain remains rear-biased, with the rear motors delivering the majority of the performance. Drivers can choose between Range, Tour and Performance driving modes, while launch control is also included.

The EV is underpinned by an 800-volt electrical architecture and uses a 122 kWh battery pack developed at Ferrari’s Maranello facility. Integrated into the floor structure, the battery delivers a claimed range of around 530 km on a single charge.

Despite weighing 2,260 kg, Ferrari says the Luce maintains sharp handling through advanced torque vectoring, four-wheel steering and a low centre of gravity. The car also features a synthetic performance soundtrack generated from drivetrain vibrations to enhance driver engagement.

Prospects In India

While Ferrari has not announced an official launch timeline for India, the Luce is expected to arrive through Ferrari’s authorised dealer network. Once launched, it will join the growing ultra-luxury EV segment and compete with high-performance electric models from brands such as Porsche AG and Mercedes-Benz
