2026 Mahindra BE 6: 5 Major Updates You Need To Know

BaaS pricing, a new three-screen cockpit, AI features and the Formula E-inspired Freedom Edition headline the updated BE 6 range.

Mahindra has given the BE 6 a fairly substantial update with the introduction of the new SPORTEQ range. While the overall BE 6 formula remains familiar, Mahindra has added new technology, more variants and a new battery subscription option.

Here are the top 5 updates on the 2026 Mahindra BE 6.

1. BaaS brings the starting price down

The biggest change is the introduction of Battery as a Service (BaaS). The BE 6 SPORTEQ now starts at Rs 11.45 lakh with the 59kWh battery under the BaaS plan. Buyers will additionally pay Rs 3.75 per km for the battery.

For those who want to own the battery outright, the 59kWh version starts at Rs 19.45 lakh. This gives buyers two different ways of purchasing the BE 6, depending on how they want to manage their EV ownership costs.

2. A new three-screen cockpit

The BE 6 gets a major cabin update as well. From the TWO variant onwards, the SPORTEQ gets a three-screen, coast-to-coast display setup, replacing the two-screen layout seen on the original BE 6.

Mahindra has also introduced six new TEQ suites under its MAIA artificial intelligence architecture. TEQ_Talk, powered by Google Gemini, uses 17 specialised AI agents and supports more than 100 functions and 48 apps, including navigation, music, news and vehicle controls.

3. More performance-focused features

The new TEQ_Drive suite adds features such as Custom Drive Mode, Drift Mode, Tribe Drive and Revive & Revive SOS.

The Formula E Freedom Edition gets an exclusive Acceleration Boost, taking the BE 6 from 0-100 km/h in 6.44 seconds.

4. Two new special editions

The Freedom Edition is aimed at buyers who want a sportier BE 6. It gets the original BE 6 headlamp design, a two-screen cockpit, a signature halo element and a Black and Firestorm Orange interior.

The Launch Edition, meanwhile, gets a Graphite Storm exterior and Racing Tan leatherette interior.

5. Existing owners also get an upgrade

Perhaps the most interesting part is that Mahindra isn’t keeping all the new software features exclusive to the SPORTEQ. Existing BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S owners will receive new features through OTA updates from January 2027. The exact features will depend on the model and variant.

Overall, the 2026 Mahindra BE 6 gets some serious upgrades over just a cosmetic refresh. The BE 6 is more attractive for the new and existing buyers with BaaS, new AI features, and OTA updates.
