The 14-inch screen is hard to ignore in a showroom and it genuinely is one of the larger displays you will find at this price point. In day to day use though, it is not always as smooth as the first impression suggests. Software lag shows up in regular use, occasional screen freezes have been reported, and OTA updates have not always been consistent — older software versions sometimes just stay that way.
The 2024 model is a clear step up from earlier Hectors in this department. MG has worked on the software side and it shows, but it is still not at the level of responsiveness that some buyers expect after seeing the hardware.
If infotainment is important to your ownership experience, do not judge it from a 5 minute demo. Spend at least 30 minutes with the unit at the showroom — open multiple apps, test the voice commands, check how quickly the screen responds across different functions. What feels snappy in a quick look can behave differently once you are actually poking around in it. That test drive will tell you more than any spec sheet.
