The new Tata Sierra has been launched after a two-decade hiatus, but unlike the older SUV which was strictly sold as a three-door model, the new vehicle is a five-door that pays homage to the OG while blending nostalgic SUV cues with modern design and practicality. The 2025 Sierra is a mid-size SUV that combines its classic silhouette with contemporary amenities.

The Sierra retains the hallmark boxy proportions that defined its predecessor, while modern touches include flush door handles, pronounced body cladding, blacked-out ORVMs and roof rails. The cabin is spacious and can seat five adults comfortably, thanks to the upright profile, and the sense of roominess is enhanced by the light-coloured upholstery and the largest panoramic sunroof in its segment. A first for a Tata vehicle is the triple-screen dashboard layout, which includes a driver cluster, a central infotainment unit and a passenger-facing display, showcasing the SUV’s tech-forward approach.
The Sierra offers three 1.5-litre engine options to customers at launch:
A naturally aspirated petrol unit producing 106 hp and 145 Nm, available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

A turbo-petrol direct-injection engine delivering 160 hp and 255 Nm, paired exclusively with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

A 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine producing 118 hp, with torque outputs of 260 Nm (manual) and 280 Nm (automatic), offered with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Like most of Tata’s current lineup, all three engines are currently available only in a front-wheel-drive layout.
The new Sierra is offered in seven trims: Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+. The entry-level Smart+ trim starts at INR 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom) while the top-of-the-line Accomplished+ trim is priced at INR 18.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
