Starting 2026 with a bang, Mahindra has announced a strong start for the XEV 9S and the XUV 7XO, recording a combined total of 93,689 bookings on January 14. The company also stated that the bookings translate to an estimated value of over ₹20,500 crore (calculated at ex-showroom prices). This clearly highlights the demand for SUVs, and thanks to an SUV-only lineup, Mahindra has become the second-largest manufacturer, surpassing Tata and Hyundai.

Though Mahindra has not given a split between the two SUVs, we assume a chunk of the bookings comes from the 7XO, given it offers petrol and diesel options to choose from. Mahindra offers a strong lineup of BEVs, and the XEV 9S will only add to the overall sales.

Deliveries for both SUVs will be rolled out in a phased manner across dealerships nationwide. Deliveries of the all-electric XEV 9S are scheduled to begin from January 26, while deliveries of the XUV 7XO have already commenced from January 14.
